The key to successful retailing

As an esthetician it can sometimes be challenging to remember everything there is to know about each skincare product you carry, especially when you work with multiple skincare lines. Yet your clients depend on you for expert advice when it comes to their skincare routine.

When speaking to your clients remember they are not industry professionals, although you are knowledgeable about products and ingredients, you want to keep it simple. If your verbiage is too technical it can turn your clients off and you risk losing a sale.

An easy way to retain and relay information about individual products is to highlight 1-2 active ingredients and feature 2-3 key points about what those ingredients do when making a recommendation. Here’s an example:

Skinceuticals Phloretin CF
Ingredient:
•%10 L-ascorbic acid
•2% Phloretin

Key Points:
•Reduces photo damage
•Stimulates collagen production
•Corrects pigmentation
