Beauty Incubator Recruitment are excited to announce we have been retained by an upscale cosmetic surgery clinic in Oakville, Ontario who is looking for experienced operating room nurse to join the cosmetic surgery team. Their preferred candidate will have experience with scrub, circulating in a hospital or private clinic. Experience in plastic surgery cases is considered an asset.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting physicians with surgeries (both major surgeries and minor procedures).
- Assisting in suturing, suture removal and the application of dressings.
- Starting IVs and administer medications.
- Scrubbing and set up sterile equipment for surgical procedures.
- Maintaining quality service by following organization standards.
- Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
- Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment.
- Document patient-care records and other forms accurately, following policies and procedures in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse, in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Completion of an accredited peri-operative nursing program a requirement
- 2+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced clinic or hospital environment
- 2-3 years’ experience working as a scrub, an/or circulating nurse
- Experience with minor surgeries is an asset
- Certification on sterilization, considered an asset
- Strong time management and organizational skills, flexibility and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to build a good rapport with patients and staff
- Possess a caring and compassionate demeanor
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with electronic medical records
