How to become a successful Aesthetician

Becoming a successful esthetician doesn’t happen overnight. As a former medical aesthetician myself I realized it was about more than performing a good treatment, it’s a balancing act of many skills such as:

  1. Having extensive knowledge of skincare and services
  2. Strong communication and listening skills
  3. Building relationships
  4. The ability to recommend/retail products and treatments
  5. Being detailed oriented

I learned that a consultative approach enabled me to develop relationships quicker with clients rather than a sales approach and in doing so my sales increased monthly as well as by bookings.

It takes time to develop these skills set and some may come easier for you than others. We all have our own style and there’s no right or wrong way of doing things, you just need to find what works best for you.
