A winter state of mind
There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes.
We all know how the frigid temperature of winter can sometimes bring us down as we count the days, weeks and even months before the return of summer. But what if we shifted the way we think and instead of surviving the winter we thrived during winter.
Perhaps we should take page out of Nordic living. In Norway many embrace what winter has to offer: cozying up with a fuzzy blanket sipping hot cocoa, outdoor festivals and nature walks. Although the scenery may vary in North America, let’s not lose sight of the beauty that surrounds us and the fun outdoor activities to be had – ice skating, snowshoeing and skiing to name a few.
This shift not only increases energy levels, it also improves mental health and wellbeing. So, the next time you feel yourself getting into a funk about the weather, celebrate the beauty of winter and what the season has to offer.
